Contra Angle Handpiece Maintenance Instructions
CS-CH Series Contra Angle Handpieces consisting of contra Shanks and Contra Heads
TO INSTALL CONTRA-HEAD TO CONTRA-SHANK: Push the neck ring (spring loaded) of the shank upward and hold, then insert the stem end of the contra head; and release the neck ring to secure. Latch type contra heads secure the bur with the latch. Friction grip contra heads (for 1.6 mm diam. turbine burs) need an accompanying tool for bur insertion and removal.
SPRAY OIL THE CONTRA HEAD AND CONTRA SHANK SEPARATELY. Insert the stem of the contra head into the nozzle, hold them firmly downward in a paper towel and spray oil away from your face until clear oil comes out on the towel. Insert the nozzle into the end of the shank and spray oil until clean oil comes out of the front.
TROUBLE SHOOTING: Test the contra head after oiling by manually rotating the gear at the stem end; any resistance indicates remaining debris, or damaged bearings or gears.
